Young Voices-Young Choices is a six session series of conversations aimed at finding solutions to community safety and gun violence with a diverse, intergenerational cross-section of community stakeholders centering the voices of young people ages 15-25.

Young Voices - Young Choices groups are made of 10-12 stakeholders from a diverse cross-section of the community.

• Each group is comprised of at least 50% young community stakeholders. 
• Each group meets together for 6 sessions 
• Participants participate in 2 pre-session affinity group meetings.
• Meeting sessions are 2 hours and include a meal.
•  transportation, & childcare are provided.
•  Participants who attend at least 5 sessions receive a stipend for their time. 

In Session 1, participants will …

• Get to know each other.
• Agree on how the study circle will run.
• Think about what it is like to be a young person in our community.

In session 2, participants will ...

• Look at our community from the point of view of a young person.
• Get a picture of how youth are doing in this community.
• Think about how to improve the community for young people.

In session 3, participants will …

• Learn about individual & community trauma

In session 4 participants will …

• Learn the correlation between structural violence and individual acts of      violence

In session 5, participants will…

• Discuss how we make our community a safer place for everyone.

In session 6 participants will …

• Decide together on key action steps for change.
